Is the app free? The first four lessons in the app are free. Subsequent levels are available in different packs, and is up to you to decide how many levels you wish to learn up to.
I upgraded to a new device and cannot see my lesson progress As of now, we do not sync your progress in lessons across devices. The feature is on our roadmap but not presently available.
I upgraded to a new device and my purchases are not reflected in my new device To use your purchases on your new device, please ensure that you have the same account associated with the speaktribe app and the same Google wallet account setup as the one used while making the purchase. If the above two conditions are met, visit the purchase screen on the app on your new device. It should trigger a verification and download of purchased data.If you see an error message in the process, please write to us at feedback@speaktribe.com mentioning what the error message said, and we will get back to you soon.
I am facing mic issues during the voice exercises. This could be an issue with the speech recognition engine. Please write to us at feedback@speaktribe.com and we will get back to you soon.
I want to be able to practise on my laptop. We presently have apps only for iOS and Android devices. As of now, we don't have any plans for a web app in the near future. But we might explore that if enough people express the need.
I am not able to hear anything when I tap the speaking icon. Please try installing Google text-to-speech, if not already installed. Please 'force-stop' the app and restart it and see if it works for you. If it still does not work, please write to us at feedback@speaktribe.com with the device model name that you are using, and we will get back to you soon.
I know a little Spanish, and I think the Spanish app has grammatical errors. In past we have found that such cases have been more a case of misunderstood dialect - our Spanish app currently teaches you Spanish spoken in Spain, which has a few words and which differs in a few words and pronunciation of words, from that spoken in Mexico, for example. The basics however remain similar. If you still feel there is a mistake, please write to us at feedback@speaktribe.com and we will get back to you soon.
The app speaks too fast sometimes. Can we slow it down a bit? The speaker icon during the lessons comes on a slider - moving the icon to its left slows down the speech.
I am having problems with the pronunciation of the words - the app is speaking Spanish words without a Spanish accent. The app uses the text-to-speech engine present on the device to speak in the correct accent. Most likely, your new device does not have a Spanish supporting text-to-speech engine. Please install the latest version of Google Text-to-Speech from the Play Store. If it still does not work, please go to device's settings app and go to accessibility/text-to-speech and check if the text-to-speech engine has 'Spanish' downloaded. If it still does not work, or if you have a confusion, please write back to us at feedback@speaktribe.com and we will get back to you soon.
